Hellloooo Fall!!

Happy first day of Fall!! I can finally break out the dark lipsticks, sweaters and boots and not feel bad about it. Apple cider every night please. And corn maze planning must begin now. Where I live, we have at least 4 farms who all have corn mazes, pumpkin patches and fall activities. I think I have to go to every single one of them this year. These photos were taken at Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm in Snohomish, Wa and they have fire pits you can rent out IN the corn maze! How amazing does that sound? I made this Fall To-Do list last year, I can't wait to do ALL of these things! Gosh, I just LOVE fall.

What do you have planned this season? I would love to add more to my list! Anybody been pumpkin hunting yet?

My First Wedding || Ellensburg, WA

As you know, two weeks ago I did the flowers for my first wedding. I thought I would share some of the few photos I took there and the days leading up to it. I didn't get a chance to get good photos of the bouquets, so Im waiting to get the professional ones before I show you those. This wedding was out in the country in Ellensburg, WA and the bride wanted to feel like she was standing in the middle of wildflower meadow. Let me know what you think!

P.S. A HUGE thank you goes to my boyfriend and his 2 best friends. They did the dirty work of filling all of the jars with rocks so that they wouldn't tip over from the wind. It was a killer that day. Thank you so SO much!

Sunrise Bouquet

A couple weeks ago I woke up a little early and just felt the urge to make a bouquet. The sun was rising and creating the most gorgeous glow and the flowers I had on my porch were mostly creamy oranges and yellows and peaches. Everything fit perfectly. This bouquet is made of dahlias, roses, lisianthus, yarrow, scented geranium and love in a puff vine.

Have you created anything lately? I want to see it! :)

Pastel Hair Club

Well I guess I wouldn't be a true blogger without putting unnatural color in my hair at least once, right? My cousin and I have been planning this for quite some time now, just waiting for my hair to get to the perfect length. I was so nervous to get this done. I would have never thought I would be putting blue and purple (there was supposed to also be pink on the ends, but that didn't stay) in my hair, but since it washes out over time, I thought why not? I am so glad I did! I love how it turned out! Paige (paige_l_osborne) did an amazing job on it! This happened a week or two ago so it has washed out a little. It is now more blue and greenish than blue and purple, which is kind of cool. Once this is out, I think I might play around with pink a little before I cut it all off. Maybe…

Mukilteo Beach Loves

Its been awhile since my last outfit post. Hopefully we can get back to our normal schedule soon! The past 2 weeks have been jam packed with flowers, flowers and more flowers! As you could probably tell by my last couple of posts :) These photos were actually taken a couple of weeks ago and I just never had the time to post them. So here we go! We went to dinner here at the walk-up Ivars bar in Mukilteo and went and found a log on the beach to eat. It was lovely. Watching the ferries come in and out and looking at the other islands in the distance. Gosh. I just love Western Washington, but you already knew that :)

Hello September

September is upon us, which means that fall is practically here. Football starts tonight, I've been waking up to fog and the leaves are changing color. The best time of the year. So here is a fall inspired arrangement to celebrate! Ive got some gorgeous orange and red dahlias, yarrow, red viburnum berries, love in a puff vine, a little bit of cilantro that has gone to seed and some other woody branches.

What have you been making lately? Are the leaves changing colors yet?
Thanks for stopping by!

Floret Flowers Seasonal Floral Intensive Workshop | Recap

As a lot of you may know, last week I took a huge plunge and decided to learn from the best there is. I joined Erin Benzakein of Floret for her Seasonal Floral Intensive Workshop. It was an amazing 2 days and something that I will not forget anytime soon. It was the perfect way to begin what will hopefully be a long journey of arranging flowers. And if the future is anything like the past 2 weeks have been, it will be a fun one.
The setting she chose for this workshop was completely perfect. An old, refurbished red barn in the middle of the picture perfect Skagit Valley, WA. I just wish I had a photo that captured ALL of the flowers that took up one whole wall of the barn that they had already harvested for us and we headed out to her farm to harvest even more flowers! I wish you could have seen the place after that. Incredible.
She showed us how to make a large urn arrangement, a small table arrangement and a wild and loose bridal bouquet. After each demonstration we were set loose with all of the flowers to see what we could do. Having never made anything like that before, I loved finally being able to create the things that I have been wanting to create for months but have never had the resources. Especially the resources grown just a mile or 2 from where we were.
The workshop ended with the most gorgeous dinner prepared by Ashley of Not Without Salt on the most beautiful table I have ever eaten at. Hops hanging from the ceiling and eating by candlelight in an old barn was complete magic and something you would only see in magazines. Which you will see in about a year. A magazine was there the whole second day shooting our workshop. That was really awesome to see the behind the scenes stuff. I can't wait to see the article they write.
I am so glad I decided to join Erin, her team and the other ladies that were there. I made some amazing connections, learned so so much and had the best time. This was one of the best things I could have done for myself right now. And really there are no words I can say that accurately describe this experience, so you are just going to have to take my word for it that it was the best one.
