Country Life

This past week I was in Eastern Washington at my boyfriends house. They live in a small little farming town where everyone knows everyone. I kind of love it there. It's the kind of place where there are cows in the front yard, deer running through the field and chickens hanging out on your front door step. Afternoons are spent on the ATV deep in the hills and you spend the evening watching the sun disappear behind the mountain out back. What is there not to love? I love having a place like this to escape to every so often, not often enough though. Its perfect.

A Brief Taste of Spring

It felt like spring during this day! So I brought out the bright floral skirt and mint baseball tee. It really made me want to go play some frisbee or baseball or something. I thought pictures at the sunny field was appropriate. I was able to take pictures without my sweater and be completely comfortable. I do wish we would get at least one more snow storm, but having this brief taste of spring felt nice. I can't wait to get back out in the garden and grow things and with the temps increasing, it means I can get back out in the greenhouse to clean it up and ready for little seedlings to grow!

Saying Goodbye to Summer Dresses

We are in the last stages of summer and I thought I had better get at least one more wear out of this dress before it gets put in the back of the closet for fall and winter. The perfect attire for a casual Friday, lounging about the back yard. I wore this dress far less than I should have this summer. Did I even wear it once before this?? I really couldn't tell you. Do I have a reason for that? No. I might just  have to pull it back out in the next couple of weeks and then I will say goodbye.

Exploring my Surroundings and a little Challenge for You

The places that I take outfit pictures, to me, are just as important as the outfit itself. I get inspired by my surroundings. When I am out driving around, I am constantly looking at the scenery and thinking to myself, "This outfit would look good in that field" or "that outfit would look good by that lake." I am always finding places that I wish I could use for my outfit pictures. One of the things I love about having this blog, is it takes me to places I wouldnt normally go. It gets me outside and exploring my surroundings. So I hope with these pictures that I take here, they inspire you to get outside and explore that field behind your house or the little stream that you always drive by on your way home from work. I challenge you to take pictures in a place that you havent taken pictures at before. If you do, leave a link below. I would love to see it for my next little piece of inspiration.

Exploring the Okanogan Hills

I spent the majority of last week in the Okanogan Valley, in north central Washington. My boyfriend and I spent a couple of hours exploring the hills behind his house. These pictures show what we came across. If you travel the main highway through this area of the state, you are surrounded by brown hills. These dirt roads showed a whole different side of Okanogan. Large green meadows, surrounded by groves of aspen trees with patches of purple, white and yellow wildflowers. Exactly the spot where I would go with picnic basket in hand and a good book in my bag. Travel a little farther and you come across a hidden little lake with a forest of evergreen trees in the distance and rolling green hills. Every now and then you would find an old abandoned barn or shed. These old buildings all have stories. Stories that I would love to know. Who worked there, what did they do, why did they leave? Exploring these areas you feel like you are the first person to be there, but these buildings tell you otherwise.

It's that perfect little street

The sun is out and it is begging you to spend the day outside. So you decide to put on comfortable shopping clothes and head out with your mom to Snohomish's First Street, the antique capital of the Northwest, a street lined with antique shops, boutiques, cupcake shops and restaurants. Its the kind of Street, where every time you visit you fall in love with all over again. It has that small town feel and is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

The Perfect Dinner

This will be my last outfit post from Pullman for a very long time. Tomorrow is moving day. It's been a good five years Pullman. Brent and I went to dinner at the golf course here in town, where these pictures were taken. It was the most relaxing dinner and so perfect. The weather was just right that we got to eat outside and not get too hot or cold. The food was delicious! Three course meal, complete with three different kind of desserts. The most amazing view of the golf course and the rolling hills behind that. Soft music playing in the background. And to top it all off, a large glass of lemonade. Perfection.
If you want to learn more about Brent (the guy behind my camera), go say hi to Ilene at Much Love Illy where she is doing "The Guy Behind the Camera" series! Thanks so much for having us!

Graduation Day

After five short years here at Washington State University, graduation day has arrived. I would say finally, but I don't know. These past five years have been so good and I have met some of the best friends and I would hate to say this but its reality, I might not see some of them ever again. Good thing we live in an age where keeping in touch is extremely easy. Hopefully I will have a full recap of my college life and you guys will get to meet some of these people. I wrote it here, so now I'm accountable for it. Be looking for that and a recap of todays festivities as well.
Here's to a great graduation day and working for the next 60 years! WooHoo!!
