R & MB Wedding Photos

Remember these guys? In September I went down to California to take their engagement photos. They got married December 20 in Zermatt,  Switzerland and I was lucky enough to take their wedding photos. Here are a couple from that day. Enjoy!

Rome, Italy

After our short stay in Zermatt, we made our way down to Rome, Italy. I am going to be completely honest. My first impression of Rome wasn't the best. It probably didn't help that we just got done staying in a perfect little town, with no hustle and bustle and getting off of the train in a crazy busy station at night. No, that definitely didn't help. I was expecting more from Rome and didn't quite get it. However, looking back at these pictures, there was a little magic in Rome.

Christmas lights were EVERYWHERE. You knew what streets had something important down them, because the lights told you so. They were just draped over the streets, creating a ceiling that sparkled. And the fact that every restaurant had outdoor seating was so amazing.

The first full day we were there, we didn't have anything planned and just wanted to explore the area we were staying in. We were only a street away from Vatican City and wandered there that morning. When we got there we found a whole crowd of people standing around looking like they were waiting for something. No one was walking around and they were all facing the same direction. Obviously waiting for something. So we decided to stick around. We were there for an hour, when the Pope shows up in his window for the Sunday Blessing. It was an incredible welcome to Rome.

Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt, Switzerland was a fairytale. I have been to eight countries in Europe and can say that Switzerland is my favorite. I have to go back to this country again in the spring or summer to take advantage of all of the hiking trails they have there. Zermatt is a cute little town right at the base of the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn is the mountain that inspired the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland. The mountain did not disappoint, the people were so friendly and the hotel we stayed at was perfect. The continental breakfast tables were set with pink table cloths and teacups. It was perfect.

And to top it all off, if you follow me on Instagram, then you saw the picture of the most perfect snowflake you will ever see. We rode the Gornergrat-Bahn railway, the highest open-air railway in Europe, to the summit of Gornergrat (pictured above), where they have an observatory, hotel and restaurant. While we couldn't see anything around us because of the clouds, (we would have been able to see 20 4000 meter peaks all around us) we experienced multiple perfect snowflakes falling from the sky. You guys, the intricate drawings and cut-outs of snowflakes that you often see do not just come from imagination. Those are real! Intricate snowflakes are real. It was unbelievable. 

Zermatt was a complete dream. Looking at these pictures makes me miss it so much. I cannot say 

enough good things about it and I cannot wait to go back! 

Washington Coast Vacation - Part 4

While on vacation, my boyfriends sisters family did a little crabbing off of the docks in Westport. We went with them a couple of the times to check the pots and often guessed how many crabs they would catch. I was way off every time. I was guessing 3 or 4, when they caught around 12 every time, the majority were too small to keep though. I think they walked away with 6 (maybe?) I loved going to the docks to take pictures, I think these are some of my favorite from the trip. Be sure to check out parts 1, 2 & 3 of this trip as well!

Washington Coast Vacation - Part 3 - The Beach!

After our ferry ride and our trip to Hurricane Ridge, we made it to the beach! My boyfriends family got a house on the beach in Grayland, on the coast of Washington State. Every day we spent some time in the sand, digging holes, making sand castles, my boyfriends brother-in-law made an awesome little fort and ended the trip with a fire on the beach on our last night there. Smores were eaten and to change things up a bit, I added gummy bears to mine. I imagined it being like chocolate covered gummy bears (my absolute favorite!!) it was close but not quite (the chocolate needed to melt more). Still very good and I will make sure to have a package of gummy bears on hand for the next bonfire. Beach vacations are always so much fun, especially when you go with little boys. They keep you going.
