This is My Paris Dress

So remember the last post I wrote and said that warmer weather was coming and it was sunny and all was good. Well that night it snowed and I woke up the next morning with a couple of inches on the ground. Warm and sunny one day, blizzard the next. It does that here. I'm kind of glad it did though, because it made this dress look amazing against the snowy backdrop. I call this dress my Paris Dress. Simply from the fact that I bought it in Paris this last summer and it was the only piece of clothing I bought there and so so so glad I did. I needed just a little memento from that beautiful city and every time I wear it now, I get that dreamlike feeling that I felt walking down the streets of Paris to the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tour tinkling in the night sky. Paris is such a magical city and I hope all of you get to go there someday and experience it for yourself.

Warmer Weather's Coming

Its warming up where I am in Washington. Temperatures are now in the 30's, at least for the week and I can get away with just wearing a hoodie and a vest and not freeze to death. I have been wanting a denim vest for awhile and didn't want to pay the money for one, so can we just take a minute and be thankful for thrift stores? I bought this Levis jacket from one and just cut the sleeves off. And just like that I had denim vest in my possession at a quarter of the cost. Oh Happy Day!

A few of my Favorite Things

These five items are just a few of my favorite things at this moment. Emily Post's Etiquette and The Vintage Tea Party Book are books I got with gift cards from Christmas and am so glad I did. Emily Post's Etiquette is such a good book to have on hand, it can answer any question you have about what is proper and not. Do you find yourself having a tea party anytime soon? I highly suggest you get the Tea Party Book. It has recipes, outfit suggestions, and decoration ideas. I also recently discovered lipstick and now I have to buy every shade out there. The tea cup I got as a birthday present from a friend. It is the first of hopefully a new collection to be started. Gold glitter is finding its way on many objects in my apartment and candle sticks are just a lovely way to end the night.

Adventures

I had been thinking about starting a blog for a very long time. Personal style blogs are what I look at the most on the internet and it always looked like fun to take pictures of your outfits in the woods, in an open field or on train tracks. I was always hesitant to start my own, because of the fear that I wouldn't have enough time to keep it up or have the motivation to take pictures. But I can say now that taking pictures in these locations is really quite fun and I wish I would have started this earlier. This is going to be a fun adventure and I can't wait to see where Pretty Lovely takes me.

Hi everyone! Here it is, Pretty Lovely! My name is Jordyn, I'm 23 years old and getting ready to graduate college in May.
